Full Season One Episode Breakdowns

With Season One complete - I thought it might be easier for everyone to see the episode breakdowns in one, easy-to-read post. :-)

Episode 1: "Anything Could Happen"

Dru Maddox begins to assemble the talent he needs to launch his own gay themed adult website. With the help of his best lesbian friend April, Dru starts by going after the top gay porn star out there today, Austin Ryan. The only catch...he's in jail; Dru's dim-witted best friend Kyle recruits Reese, the hot new guy he meets at the gym to audition; Tensions begin to rise in the house.


Episode 2: "The Boy is a Bottom"

After a night with Austin, Kyle now thinks he's pregnant, which leads Courtney to take drastic measures; Reese and Austin prepare to film their first scenes for the site, which causes a bit of a problem for them both. Sexual tension between Dru and Reese begins to rise, despite April's concerns; Austin awkwardly pitches in to help raise money for the site.


Episode 3: "Frenemies"

Friends become enemies and enemies become friends as sexual / professional tensions threaten to derail the entire site; Austin and Reese prepare for their first big scene together; Courtney catches April on a lesbian dating site and decides to spice things up a bit; Kyle wants to be a model on the site; Reese asks Dru out on a date.

Episode 4: "I Love/Hate You"

Big changes are happening at dru-maddoX.com! An open casting call brings a fresh new face to the site; Dru's feelings for Reese weigh heavily on him, which causes him to take drastic action that changes everything; Austin attempts to repair the damage to the site and the relationships of everyone involved; Courtney starts the prep for Kyle's birthday; Kyle is jealous of the new twink that grabs Austin's attention and gets advice from April; Reese is set up by an unknown person.

Episode 5: "Hungry Eyes"

Things are getting back to normal at the site; Everyone is excited for Kyle's 21st birthday party; Austin & Dru both give Kyle presents he was never expecting; Courtney's lesbian sister visits and doesn't get along with April; Reese has a bad feeling about the new guy for the site; Someone's brownies wreak havoc; Dru opens the site up to previews and advanced membership purchases to surprising results.


Episode 6: "Rivals"

As dru-maddoX.com prepares to launch, new and old rivalries reignite; Austin and Reese differ on who should be the star of a movie for the site; Kyle has a difficult time processing what happened at his birthday; the site is sued by a competitor; April goes head to head with her ex; a performer fails their STD test.


UPDATES: The final reviews of each episode are underway. Ballpark that will be done in a couple weeks. Thoughts are racing through my head on where to go with season two. I've got some really cool stuff lined up for Reese and what I think would be a really cool moment for Austin to build towards. What I'm having the most fun planning out is the battle of the movies between Reese and Austin. So many different ways to go with it, it's been fun seeing what works and what doesn't.

There's also going to be a few new characters joining the show. Looking forward to seeing how they'll fully fit into the mix.

There's even the possibility of adding a 7th episode to season two. That episode would probably be the second to last of the season and would feature a possible back-door spin-off show if all goes well. Very exited for what possibly lies ahead!

So episode 6 is now complete which fully completes season one of dru-maddoX.com. I'm very excited to have the season completed and can not wait to share it with everyone!

As dru-maddoX.com prepares to launch, new and old rivalries reignite; Austin and Reese differ on who should be the star of a movie for the site; Kyle has a difficult time processing what happened with Ian; the site is sued by a competitor; April goes head to head with her ex; a performer fails their STD test.

Next up: The final revisions / a few small re-writes and then season one will be ready for publication. I'm already hard at work drafting the stories for season two, a few of which I'm already very excited about!

Episode 5: NEW TITLE and Mini Synopsis

Took half a day longer than I thought it would, but episode 5 is now complete! I've, yet again, re-named an episode. Maybe I should stop saying what I think the title will be and wait until I actually decide :-)

Next up: I start working on episode 6 tomorrow, which I guess you could call the season finale of season one. Once that's complete, I'll do some more proofing to make sure everything is perfect and then start the process of getting season one published as an eBook.

Episode 4: NEW Title and Mini Synopsis

Hey everyone!

Episode 4 is now complete. What was originally supposed to be a single episode about Kyle's Birthday, then switched to a two-part episode, has now reverted back to a single episode. Kyle's birthday story-line however, was pushed completely out of episode 4 and moved to episode 5. Did ya get all that? :-)

As I was writing episode 4, I felt as if the relationship dramas needed to take center stage and made a bunch of creative changes on the fly. None of the original story-lines were scrapped, just re-assigned to either episode 5 or episode 6.

Episode 4 has actually turned into one of my favorite episodes so far. There's a scene between Kyle and April that I simply love. I think anyone who reads the series will love it as well!

Without further ado, here's what you can expect from episode 4:

The prep for episode 5 is happening today and hopefully the writing will begin tomorrow. It's now currently titled "Surprise!" :-)

In The Beginning

Hey everyone, welcome to the first blog post for dru-maddoX.com.

I'm sure you're all wondering - what the heck is dru-maddoX.com!?!

dru-maddoX.com started as a TV pilot idea, tailored specifically for the LGBT community. It's a comedic drama that focuses on Dru Maddox, a former porn star turned entrepreneur that is attempting to launch his own gay porn website...you guessed it! dru-maddoX.com.

I feel I should say that while this series does contain pornographic elements to it, it is not a porno series. It's a series about struggle, relationships, creativity, heart and determination.

While dru-maddoX.com has been and is still in contention to be shot as an actual series, I decided to try and boost interest a bit more and launch the show as an eBook series.

Here's the kicker, I'm a screenwriter, not a novelist. So my plan is to release the first season of the show, which contains six episodes, as an eBook, but in screenplay format. Brilliant? Crazy? I'm not sure yet, but I think people will enjoy this series, no matter the format.

Over the next several weeks, I'll be releasing more details on the first season of the show. I'm currently in the process of outlining the last three episodes of season one and in the early stages of determining the direction for season two.

The cover art for season one was selected yesterday actually - more on that very soon!
